One of the greatest Oz pilots, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, would bring a flask of brandy on his flights, and had often been considered a bit p155ed on his other flights. Mind you, being the first to fly nonstop across the Pacific in the 1930s would make anybody want a shot.
My mother had a joyride with Smithy, paid 2 pounds (a LOT of money then) and loved it.
