Again, this isn't true.
I held a CAA class 1 medical using an old lantern test. On applying to EK, was told Lantern was not accepted anymore, and I needed to pass the CAD test. They have a CAD test machine in HQ. You do this on the last day of interview selection in Dubai.
I continue to fail Isihara every year; despite knowing I can't see the numbers, they still make me try as if expecting a medical miracle, or waiting perhaps for me to memorise the numbers.
Either way, the result is irrelevant. Passing CAD once during interview, covers you for life under GCAA. I hope this makes it clear for our Brazilian aviator.
