You own a garage and you are doing OK, but it is a competitive market. You need another engineer.
Do you select from the pile of CV's;
A cadet who has done an HND in car maintenance at the local Polytechnic, worked at Kwik-Fit on Saturdays, and who after a few years will be perfectly competent?,
Or do you select the engineer from the garage down the road who was originally trained by Audi and who has worked on cars for 5 years?
Which one of those two will be able to work unsupervised, and tackle any job presented from day one?
