I hope for your sake you never have to face sudden unemployment after many years of safe and loyal service to your employer. If you do face that some day, I'm sure you'll appreciate someone reaching out to offer you a softer landing while benefiting from your experience.
To put it another way, put yourself in the shoes of Easyjet management. You have two choices; a pool of candidates who are highly experienced on your current aircraft types and are well familiar with the routes you serve, or a pool of new pilots who will take several years to offer the same benefit. Surely that's an easy choice. If your high end sports car needs a brake job, are you going to hire the shop who's been working on the same model for years, or the newbie who spent his training working on Fiat Pandas?
