A period of time in an English speaking country would be of great benefit to you.

I suspect that closer scrutiny of the application might say "minimum level 5 English" or words to that effect. I think you need to aim for level 6, and not just a marginal pass.

When I worked as a flying instructor at British Aerospace, Prestwick in the 1990s' one of the contracts was with Cathay Pacific. Native born Hong Kong students were selected in the hope that this would help with the big political picture prior to 1997 et seq.

I recall the advise given to a student on completion of the course, was to find an English speaking girl friend to ensure that his marginal English would improve over time.
