The effect of saving EFP will last only as long as they constantly cycle pilots from the 777 to the 747 and vice versa, because they don't have a common rating.
Otherwise the low hour 747 onto the 777 pilots will be on high EFP as well after one year or so.

I believe the part of the plan is to have training captains dual rated...they will be able to fly both types on one roster.
