Gerry stated late finals. Presumably he would have conducted his pre-landing checks downwind. My comments were simply referring to C150-C152 I had flown. Besides, I know Gerry and I was being "tongue-in-cheek" as the aircraft mentioned does not have a constant speed prop or cowl flaps and has fixed undercarriage. Runway clear - Carby Heat Off and correct flap Set are all meaningful checks I think.
