Close 100 squadron and buy in "Red Air" like the USAF do. That's a better idea than carrying on doing it in house. The MOD lay down rules on how much you get paid to run a squadron, but when the business is privately owned, you can pay your guys, and your shareholders, so much more.
As it is a private company the wages are unlikely to be higher.
Like every other MoD contracted company, they are acutely aware that the vast majority of personnel with the required experience have retired with a pension. Normally the wage AND pension equal the wage of those still serving.
