Agreed, it's steep. I attended twice so ended up paying ~£500 before even getting my offer. A large number of cadets coming through the doors are now easyJet MPL / Route 2 / 3 so they've got a large quota to fill it seems. Especially as L3 keep pushing for new applicants. In any case, I'd recommend giving it a shot.. but don't book one very close to todays date as i'd still allow yourself time to mentally prepare.

As for your optician requirements, everything you'll need to meet as far as the eyesight goes can be found at the below link. There are relevant documents there which your optician can read if need be. Realistically your best bet would be to go for a Class 1 medical first and foremost to check anything with your overall fitness for flight.
