My thought exactly. You might be as stunned as I was when I tell you what I was told by one Captain, when I had just over 100 hours at the airline. When I announced that the autopilot's coming off, he made me keep it on. On a clear and calm day, at FAF attitude, on base. Moderately busy traffic.
