BEagle just a quick point, Sir Humphrey Davy, discoverer of aluminium, actually called it aluminum, a name which was in general use until the Royal Society insisted that the name be changed to end in ium as per other substances eg sodium, radium, beerium etc. So our transatlantic brethren are actually using the original name for the aformentioned ductile, light metal
