After 9 pages and some 20 odd posts from yourself in generally the tone I was referring to,I don't reckon(as I mentioned already) it's a little precious to just say 'steady on',and make the point that some seemed to be having a little too much fun at the apparent troubles at VA,when these troubles are very, very common in this industry and most of us aren't too far away from that kind of stress at any time. Some of the points you make might be true enough, but it's all in the delivery, big fella..
I think maybe Hugh might be right about the thread though..
I'm always prepared to look back and reflect so yes, I agree with you, precious is probably not the right word and let's not forget that what is in the mind of the reader at times does not always match the intent of the writer - different from talking face to face, the emotion or body language is not evident. Just to clarify, I don't hate VA, I don't work for them either but I have worked for a number of airlines, here and overseas and at least one collapsed and was liquidated and I never want to see the human carnage that accompanies such and event again.

I have a number of friends that either work for or are reliant on VA either in the local community or past colleagues and having been through a corporate collapse before I am very angry that the current leadership seem to be heading in that direction. I think our only difference is that I think the evidence is insurmountable that the current direction is without direction and while first to criticize QF in many respects, I don't think it's in quite the same vein. I also know many people from QF and understand the stress that has been caused over the last few years but I simply don't think it is comparable.

I just wonder how those that take million dollar salaries and if it all goes bad will walk away rich people can sleep at night when this sort of turmoil is created for their employees.

As a private citizen I fly on both airlines and have many points with both their FF programs and while not employed directly for an airline anymore, I feel that the industry and the employees are best served by there being two very strong competitors who are stable and provide sustainable and secure employment. I sincerely (really) do not want to see either fold.

I agree about the thread change though. Personally I think this thread is exhausted, if it keeps going, JT will be at his next gig before it finishes.
