CBIR : A Success?

Accessibility of EASA IR -
It has been a while now since EASA rolled out the much awaited reformed SINGLE CREW IR qualifications. Have these reformed IRs addressed the concerns about the very small number of people taking the SINGE CREW IR? In contrast to the FAA IR, it had been recognised that only small numbers of pilots at PPL level were electing to gain an IR under EASA The EASA legislation intended to address this issue. Worryingly, I have recently become aware that a number of large UK IR providers (I know of at least three) have ceased trading recently. This is not a good sign. Is this an indication that EASA SINGLE CREW IR takeup is slowing rather than expanding? Or has the business gone East to the EU? Will the EASA legislation be reviewed to include a consideration of how accessible these changes have actually proved to be with pilots in contrast to the much more widely used FAA IR?
