I can understand what you mean because the original Flight Control Software was designed to give the feel of a B734 at 68 tonnes to a B777.
However, the AFCS software, system architecture, and the FMC software and operation is very different under the hood.
It would be prudent to get your nose in the books and read and understand. Little things like the hidden modes, when do they operate, what is the difference between Lvl Chg and FlCh, what does the quick return function do for you?
And a little humbleness is always good. You are never too old to learn.
