iPad too I think. We got one for my mother-in-law who is 70+ and she has taken to it pretty well. It can't always do whatever a atop can do and is notoriously poor at adding photos etc, but they have a good internet connection and wifi it should be fine. One problem with an iPad for a couple is that you can't have 2 user accounts but if they do everything as one it should be ok. I would aim for one with as much memory as you can afford and have a look in the apple refurbished store

If it is a close couple, ie parents or family, you might want to have all their log ins as well and 'manage' their accounts remotely when required Eg, the MiL enters meter readings etc but we actually manage the account, including sorting out her spam filters and cleaning up her mailbox from time to time.
