A separate but compatible
Opera VPN VPN app (IOS & Android) blocks ads at Opera's own server level. Other installed browsers will also have their traffic directed down this VPN tunnel, so it can be installed independently, however YMMV.
My own experience is this VPN solution blocks that annoying particular ad.
Opera desktop browser (using it to type this) offers this VPN build right into the browser and can be toggled with the click of a mouse, and several different endpoints (US, Canada, Singapore, Netherlands and Germany). Opera is a customised version of Chromium, which is also the source of google Chrome.
