Nonostante la mia non più lussureggiante stagione della vita cerco conforto nell’attività tanto prediletta da Michelino.

If you're in climb or descent and under ATC what are you supposed to do with your own weather radar? Do you cancel your ATC instruction?

I judged wrong. Tock tock tock and the radome was due for repair. The TCAS was full in that terminal area.


Quando cominciai a volare in linea le quote che frequentavo non superavano F250, ed il diuturno uso del radar per evitare i Cb era un’arte (regolazioni di Ant Tilt, Gain, Range) che io appresi con molta umiltà.
Ricordo ancora la notte che, qualche anno dopo, in partenza da Jburg, numero uno, fatta una rapida scansione col radar, decisi di tornare al parcheggio in attesa di tempi migliori.
Del resto non tutti si chiamano Whip Whitaker.

Quindi l'unico modo per procurarsi piloti esperti in gran numero oggi è sottrarli (come?...) alla concorrenza!

Reitero:
Ricordate la storiella del pilota e del cane: "Ai comandi in cabina ci sono un pilota e un cane. Quest'ultimo morde l'altro se quello s'azzarda a toccare qualcosa"

Io ormai volo solo col mio ULM 'Stick-Throttle&Rudder'.
E se mai dovrò fare un volo di linea m’accerterò prima che il Comandante sia I-FORD, B-767 CPT o Dr Alby.
