In a nutshell what we are seeing is the 'old' aircraft 'NG' with 180 min ETOPS verse the 'new' aircraft 'MAX' without ETOPS

The plan was the MAX with ETOPS but that is unlikely before the late Autumn

So in broad terms the max can do the same city pairs without ETOPS that the NG can do with ETOPS, so with unfavourable HWC both may have to stop en route for fuel. West bound loads seem to be capped at around 150 which is normal practice for Norwegian on its very long flights (TOS-LPA & DBX-OSL)

Norwegian have 4 MAX's delivered with two in revenue service and the other two due in service in the next few days.
