I don't think NAI have had any effect on this decision whatsoever. From my point of view, it looks like it may have occured anyway. However, I am still slightly surprised at the move by United.
Also, I think you read my post incorrectly, I was referring to the possibility that EI may pick up JFK for the 2 months it takes a break due to UA leaving. It leaves a nice gap in the market for them IMO, and as their current break is quite short I wouldn't be overly surprised to see them in.
Lots of unhappy to be passengers around yesterday and today anyway!
