My son was subject to one of the delayed flights into Southampton yesterday.
Booked on the 20.35 departure from Manchester, which finally departed at 23.10, airbourne at 23.21, but had to go to Bournemouth as Southampton had closed for the night. Should have arrived at Southampton at 21.35, actually landed at Bournemouth at 00.06 this morning. Flybe then had to find taxis to get passengers home to Southampton. He arrived home at 01.20.
The earlier afternoon flight on the route was cancelled as the aircraft was said to be "tech". To operate flight my son was on, aircraft was positioned up to Manchester from Southampton after arriving there from Edinburgh.
There were numerous other Flybe delays at Manchester yesterday and their check-in area was chaos with not enough desks open or staff. Several people missed flights whilst we were there. Again excuse was given as earlier "tech" problems with flights.
