Not quite. Security do not search you to find out if you are genuine aircrew. Your ID badge (issued by them) proves this. They search genuine aircrew to prevent them taking offensive nailclippers and guns airside, just in case they were planning to take control of the aircraft by force(!) Now that is the reason aircrew
moan about being searched.....the futility of it.
