It is. It is just a shame that they are not adding quality infrastructure to go with the growth. The terminal is now a complete shambles with several airlines now being forced to check-in on the equivalent of an upturned travel trunk before customers then need to lug their bags elsewhere to be checked in, and the security experience remains utterly awful on two recent trips through there. It's impossible to judge which queue to join, as the random meandering nature of the tensabarriers invariably ends up with you being diverted off the path that you thought you were going to take.
And it is incredible in this day and age that domestic baggage reclaim is still open to anyone in the building.
Although there is undoubtedly investment in aprons and parking stands this year, the mantra in the terminal seems to be to cram as much as possible into as little space as possible. Still, GIP will be gone just as soon as they can sell EDI and some poor unsuspecting pension or sovereign wealth fund will be stuck with the massive bill to provide the terminal and customer infrastructure that should have been there to cope with current traffic levels.
Are you suggesting the airport is up for sale?
Who would have the money to buy it then spend the extra money (if you go by Manchesters example £1 Billion) on a brand new terminal? It would take decades I suspect to recoup that...
