The same has happened to many other airfields as well. Some invested some money to get their systems up and running again, others installed an RNP approach instead. I don't know how much traffic they lose by being VFR only but they will certainly do their calculations. One of the problems might be that Lille and Ostende are pretty close by - so the need for another instrument field is limited.
