I don't disagree that it was a workable solution to ensure that everyone got to their destinations, albeit it late. I know that irrops happen.
My observations are that communication in this instance didn't get to front line staff as well as it could have, and that generally there seems to be an increasing number of operational issues which are affecting reliability, which could be down to there being insufficient slack to take up problems.
I support BM. I choose BM over going to LHR, even though sometimes the fares/schedules are less attractive. I'm also conscious that not all passengers are as committed to BM, so letting them down has an affect on reputation quite quickly.
Thank you for the background. It's possible that sharing that with the 50-60 passengers affected would have helped them understand why they were being re-routed and delayed, and made the experience less frustrating.
