Nil Desperandum! It took some 50 years for service in the Suez Canal Zone 1951-54 to be rewarded with a medal. After a long campaign the Government finally saw the light in 2003.
As with the Cyprus 1963-4 GSM, awarded 2016, 51 years after the event.
Never heard of any 'campaign' for it, it took me completely by surprise.
