It appears Icelandair will use the B767 to Manchester on various dates from 9th Feb.
Nice to see another scheduled intra Europe widebody on offer.
Impressive but won't do direct long haul any favors.
At this stage with AA, all bets are off. So many rumours about BA, but whether they turn up to replace AA or not, AA must be coming under pressure from VS and TCX in particular.
I wouldn't link AA's problems to BA coming, it wouldn't make commercial sense for AA to deliberately destroy routes and have BA come on. Both would easily come to an agreement that benefits both if they wanted to. Now BA may come back at some stage but hard to see it currently even in 2018 IMO.
Reality is I'm sure BA are benefiting from AA's regular cancellations and MAN is probally an easy target for AA to contain disruption with so much capacity to LHR to take the traffic. Not as easy in Europe to do the same thing.
It's more concerning that VS have chopped the odd flights in June...
