Thank you for the advice. I didn't realise that the staff at the gate had that discretion too. I try to be polite and undemanding as I know the cabin crew have to deal with some real idiots. Perhaps my kind and caring nature will carry the day, either that or my film star good looks, but then, did the elephant man ever get an upgrade?
