What a bunch of whingers. You're in one of 2 camps: 'I should have one even those I left 40 years ago' or 'I would chuck it away if they gave it to me'. It's a recognition of service, above and beyond any operational service and it shows that 'you've put the time in' and sacrificed weekends, kids birthdays etc. Just accept that it's now given to all and wear it with pride.
