Problem is once you introduce an element of getting from A to B into aviation, for whatever reason, no matter casual the "contract" the pressure to get the job done gets ramped up as anyone who holds an AOC or works for an AOC holder knows. Sadly apart from the odd hint that getting to planned destination might not be possible there's hardly a hint of scepticism or a health warning in Simon Calder's article.
