It seems that the best option is with BA, who leave early enough and get into LHR at a decent hour, giving passengers only a 3 to 4 hour wait ...
The alternative is to wait for EK to start doing services to USA, or to use AI ... and remember the only reason they have 5th freedom rights FRA-ORD, is a back up in case they fail to get same rights to LAX.
