Following on from this incident I had the following forwarded to me yesterday:

I had a similar story recently. I took off from Bangkok, engaged the autopilot. It did a fantastic job of managing the flight profile. I let it handle everything until about 500' in HK where I took over and landed. I'd like to nominate AP1 for a Betsy award.
