For many years, there was a mast shown at the 'Golden Pot' just south of Odiham with a height of over 1000ft amsl. It was only when I was drawing the RMAC for Farnborough that I was able to prove to the CAA that it didn't exist; never had. Apparently, the survey company hadn't bothered to actually survey it, they had merely seen an application for planning permission for it which was turned down due to it affecting the iaps for both Farnborough and Odiham.
At the same time I was also able to get rid of a notification of several buildings up to 480ft amsl just south of Guildford. Nobody could tell me how that got on the half mil; there was just a water tower about 100ft agl.
