parabellum, if you go back through these posts you will see that several Captains have stated that as PIC they are in command and have responsibility.

Band a Lot, first I doubt some are actually captains with major carriers and secondly I can assure you that airlines such as UAL and other major carriers do have a complete organisational structure and there is absolutely no way a captain would intervene on what is strictly a ground services problem, please, believe me!
