You could do 40 hours in an R22, then 5 in an R44 then a skill test to get a PPL with R44 type rating. Then you could do 45 mins in an R22 to add your R22 type rating. That worked for me. I think as long as you've done 5 hours you can count it.
Hi Rude. Thanks, thats interesting and good to hear you've had that experience.
I have been led to believe that I may only spend up to 10 hours of my 45 on a different type other than the one that I use to take my PPL test, do my cross country and come out with a rating on.
There does seem to be an awful lot of misunderstanding/difference of opinions on the rules for PPL.
You don't happen to know of any official legislation that clarifies the situation?
