What a difference a year makes. Booked GLA - VIE via LHR last year and everything went smoothly included by the transfer from T5 to T3. Bags checked all the way through and all done via my Air Miles. Trying to do exactly the same trip next month and been told there's no way I can check the bags all the way through and have to pick them up at LHR and the check in again at T3. Reason - too costly to check right through as costs have risen markedly due to bags not making onward connections. Add in the loss of free change of seats in some instances (hand baggage only dates) and no complimentary food or drink on Domestic (also no cash sales) then BA are now no better than EZY or FR. Comparing my recent PIK - FAO experience with my regular GLA - LHR experiences then FR are edging it. I wouldn't have said that a year ago!
