For those who can live with the shortish runway, the little airfield of Jesenwang has every recommendation. Restaurant on site and a hotel by the same operator within walking distance, Jet A1 and AvGas and Mogas 98, everything can be paid for with any credit card. When I visited (April 7th 2017) MoGas 98 was 1,59 € per litre plus vat, not really cheap but still much better than AvGas. I was told they stock 98 rather than 95 because the 98 conforms to EN228 which is required for the Lycosaurs on a MoGas STC - if I understood that right. And the runway is short, yet long enough for a Tecnam 2006 Twin to be based. Most negative might be the intense activity, I was told about up to 300 movements per day, which seems quite a lot. But the radio operator - not a controller, mind you, only information! - was quite quite good, I am sure they'd go the extra mile to make life lighter on a foreigner pilot visiting.
