There will be no scheduled services through Carlisle until the runway reconstruction and other essential works are completed. CAX remains subject to a weight restriction of 12500kgs for commercial flights, and additionally the runway is now NOTAM'd as "may be slippery when wet.".

There have been no recent announcements of a schedule for the reconstruction work. The most recent statement was last May (from Andrew Tinkler) to the effect that the runway work would be completed by October 2016, and scheduled flights would start in the spring, i.e.now. Clearly this is not happening.

I suspect the Flight Global correspondent (see #4110 above) thought it timely to follow up that announcement, contacted Stobart for an update and was told it would be "later this year". When you think of it, they would have to say that, wouldn't they ?.
