I have about 7,000 hours in AC DC-9s, both the -15 and the -32, the latter as Captain. I remember flying fin 727 once and saying, "Hey -- we should get paid more, we're in a 727!"

You could access the Winnipeg chapter of RAPCAN, the retired pilots group. A number of those men flew the DC-9 for most of their careers, and will still have the books I imagine. Not too far from MN for you to drive.
