I met a new joiner recently who his starting on the 777. He has just come off the A320, which he's been flying for 4 years. He had command turboprop ATR time and second officer time on the 777, perhaps he wanted to get back on the Boeing. I didn't ask, not wanting to come across as nosey. Either way I have a feeling he's going to regret not going onto the 380.
