Have you been in contact with he guys at IALPA? I know the REPA forum is dead now, but they may be able to assist you.
I'm assuming you are on a newer contract and have your books done by one of the 'approved' accountants that BRK suggest? If so, direct the HMRC to them.
Unfortunately, the poor guy is picked on, as opposed to the offices in Epsom and Dublin.
