The route is not necessarily underperforming, there is just greater demand for Lima in the Summer months when I believe the climate is also better. The route is only suspended during November and December. Please do not fall for the Heathrow must be better for everything obsession that some have on here. Lima is very much a high end leisure destination which is perfect for London-Gatwick. May I also remind you that Rio, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo are also under pressure at moment owing to downturns in South America, even from Heathrow.
