Well, we nearly made it. Left Goodwood at 12 in the hope that Compton's 500-700ft cloudbase would improve as TAF'd, and got as far as Stoney Cross before bad viz, rain, lowering cloud and rising ground made us divert to Bembridge and the Crab & Lobster ... where we had blue skies and light winds
Oh well, better to be safe than sorry. Hope others made it OK...
