Air Japan contract seems to improve over time and airline is clearly run by people who understand the aviation industry.
Air Japan's contract hasn't changed in at least 10 years and is falling way behind in terms of salary and scheduling (which has recently gone downhill massively). It is run by clueless clowns who only want to survive their 2-3 years unscathed before returning to Mother ANA. Despite being told what's wrong in their recent survey, they're changing nothing and just stick their fingers in their ears and mumble 'not listening' (in Japanese, obviously). The contract companies won't do anything lest they upset their wage payers and we're left on a contract that is becoming worse day by day.

Not perfect, but gradually heading in a good direction. Fresh metal in the form of the 787 coming soon also.
Blundering aimlessly would be a more appropriate description. The 767 will be around for years in its freighter form, there will be no direct entry onto the 787 and they've managed to take a 19 day conversion course and turn it into 5 months...during which you have to stay in Japan and don't get your normal days off. All of this to fly to the same crap destinations in China and continue to suffer their deplorable scheduling (nights to days, attempting two sleeps in 22 hours etc etc etc).

I agree that NCA has a LOT of problems but please don't make out that AJX is much better because it's not and it's only getting worse.
