I can recall back in VLM days a passenger being so escorted between two VLM flights, I was on board the second for Manchester (shows how long ago it was) and we waited for them. The handling agent picked out their bag from the incoming on the next stand and carried it for them.

Not often realised but Crossrail passes physically under the aircraft ramp near the Jet Centre in a tunnel. However inserting a station there would not really be practical, nor even would one at the old Silvertown station site used years ago, as the railway is on a long continuous curve there, and new stations with curved platforms are no longer allowed due to the disability access regulations.

LCY as part of the Section 106 planning permission agreement has a fixed target percentage for employees to live in the defined local area, which assuaged politicians at the time. Unfortunately the issue is that if you have a good employee who does well, they buy a better house further out and you have to keep recruiting locally again just to maintain the status quo.
