With similar attitudes to driving, I have done, on numerous occasions, picking up a strange rental car at Washington/Dulles and found myself on the Washington Beltway ... with up to 12 lanes of 2-way traffic and being 'forced' to do 75 in a 55 limit to keep safe. My wife just closes her eyes and prays. It's not fun after a trans-Atlantic flight, and the usual US Immigration nausea, but I've got used to it over the year.
