Perhaps we coukd mount a counter-attack along the lines of "What if the Westland Whirlwind" (the twin-Peregrine one)
hadn't been cancelled"?
Was it big enough to take a pair of Merlins? Or would they have weighed it down to the detriment of its other qualities?
