Emirates Internal Training positions (FSFI) fake interviews

A while ago niet friend applied dor FSFI. (Flying SFI)
As he had 8 years of Command B737 and a ex TRI/TRE, as a First officer B777 , he saw opportunities to enhance his knowledge and by promoting himself to SFI he could continue where he left off and do what he loves the most: training

Sadly after 45 minutes in the interview they already kicked him out. Without any consideration from his previous experience they summarized he was not competent enough (knowledge and enthusiasm). As he keeps his B737 TRI valid he is in the sim twice every month. While it shouldn't be a trick interview he felt he was tricked in certain questions where he did not know the answer of.

Bottom line. They told him they were looking for 8 candidates and 91 applied (or at least got their CV through). The interview seemed very generic and there was no opportunity to express his interest nor defend his statement. Just a PPT presentation and a tiny issue with students.

My question to you ppruners...is there anyone out there with similar experiences within this company ? What I mean is experience with applying for internal positions and the way they deal with recruiting. I would suggest that a company like EK treats people well and when someone with that kind of experience is assessed they take into account experience and allow for at least a proper interview?

Also as I understand from him, if pilots lose their medical they have the opportunity to work as an instructor. People without instructional backgrounds become SFI's. It doesn't make any sense.

Very sad to hear this from him as he is quiet down about it. Especially when I heard he had put in 4 weeks of hard work on a ****ty roster where there is barely anytime. Anyone share his experience?
