I have lived on the island for 35 years and have no recollection of BA or Aer Arran serving Luton from here. Manx and later Flybe did, albeit I don't know that the Flybe service was massively successful. It was part of a IOM-LTN-JER service and from my experience using the service on occasions the leg to JER was more popular than the IOM leg.
Also EasyJet's service drops to only 2 flights per week from beginning of July until late September
