What ever happened to Wisley aerodrome?
I grew up near Fairoaks in the 60s and 70s.
As a kid, I'd cycle around all the local airports.
By then both Weybridge and Wisley were both closed.
But we still went through the fence to have a look.
I've seen the museum and Mercedes dealership at Brooklands.
But I haven't been back to Wisley since the early 70s.
I always thought it was a great airport, with a nice Viscount hangar and a long runway.
With it's location near the M25 and A3, I thought it had great potential.
I can not imagine the roads around Fairoaks could handle the traffic created by a massive sub division.
