It's not that it didn't work out, it was cut at the time due to fees. The route was perfectly profitable, and this can even be seen from the outside, you don't increase the frequencies of a non profitable route.
The route went to Kerry and stayed, developed a market, hence its doing quite well. Likely better than it would in Shannon where the market is not developed.
KIR-HHN operated alongside SNN-HHN, it was not a route move to Kerry.
